100% Japanese Kozo (Unsized)
Highest ranked paper from Japan
Ichibe Iwano is one of two National Living Treasure papermakers in Japan. He is 90 years old, and the ninth generation in his family to be making this paper by hand, without machines. Picasso used his father’s paper. Iwano lives in the town of Echizen, up a hill, where a stream runs from the mountain directly into his studio, where he and his wife can be found working. They are an exceptionally kind and generous pair. There is a 3 year waiting list for his papers. We have a few sheets of this unsized Kozo.
Note: Sizes may be slightly larger than stated here. Paper is handmade and therefore some variation may occur.
